If you, like so many others, are a true foodie and love going out and trying new restaurants or cooking up some of your favorite, not so healthy, dishes at home then this it for you. Most people think that actively trying to live a healthier lifestyle and make needed lifestyle changes leaves no room for such a thing as a cheat meal. Well, that could not be further from the truth. Living a healthy lifestyle is a wonderful thing, but if we try to do great 100% of the time we will more than likely fall off the “healthy bandwagon”. Don’t forget to enjoy life! If on a Friday night you want a burger and fries, go get a burger and fries! If you allow yourself one cheat meal a week statistics show that you will more likely stick to a long term healthy lifestyle change. A good rule to think of is 80% of the time try and eat what you know are the healthier options and 20% of the time allow yourself to indulge on something you truly love and enjoy eating. This way the restrictions will be lifted slightly and you can relax and take comfort in the fact that it’s ok if you have pizza and beer…every now and then.
